Whitney Leavitt’s heartbreaking, dramatic DWTS semifinal exit—despite a 58/60—came after she and Mark Ballas “had a gut feeling”

LOS ANGELES — They might have gotten a total of 58 out of 60 points, but Whitney Leavitt and partner Mark Ballas were voted off “Dancing with the Stars” on Prince Night in Tuesday’s semifinals, which left them one week from the finale. They pointed to a “hunch” that it was their night to draw, on Nov. 19, 2025.

Ballas went on to tell GMA, post-show: “Sometimes you just get the gut feeling,” to which Leavitt responded, “Yeah, we did, we felt it.” TV Insider.

The couple danced to a cha-cha set to “1999” and then a Viennese waltz accompanied by “Slow Love.” As the couple received near-perfect scores, Derek Hough told Carrie Ann Inaba during judging, “You are out of your mind,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

In their exit comments, Leavitt said, “I already feel like a winner” and “This show has meant the absolute world for me.” I had the best time,” Ballas added. I love this show,” E! News.

The win is a fitting capper to a comeback season for Ballas. He retired in March 2023 after 20 seasons, but he returned this fall to be Leavitt’s partner (E! 2023 report).

He previously held the Mirrorball with Charli D’Amelio in 2022, according to PEOPLE’s season 31 finale recap.

In 2021, Whitney Leavitt — a longtime TikTok creator and cast member of the show “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” — garnered national attention for her hospital-room dance video, which she later claimed was an attempt at being positive, Business Insider reports.

There are five couples left for the Nov. 25 finale. Whitney Leavitt entered the season as one of the stars to watch, and her average of 58/60 on the semifinals leaderboard means she leaves that way as well.
