GEMSTONE MOUNTAIN — Players hunting the Tophat Gudetama location for the week beginning Monday, Dec. 29 can find the egg inside the Crystal Caves’ Orange Crystal Cave, sitting along the chamber’s western edge. Taking a photo with the in-game camera finishes Pochacco’s weekly “Laziest Egg” quest and delivers the week’s Decorative Gudetama plan, Dec. 29, 2025.
If your quest tracker feels vague (or you don’t see a pin), don’t panic: the Tophat Gudetama location is the same for everyone each week, and missed spawns can still be collected later, meaning you can catch up without racing the clock. For the official weekly rotation and this week’s clue, see the running schedule published by PCGamesN’s Tophat Gudetama location tracker.
Tophat Gudetama location this week: Crystal Caves’ Orange Crystal Cave
This week’s Tophat Gudetama location is a “no gimmicks” find once you’re standing in the right room. The key is getting to the Orange Crystal Cave (the cavern dominated by orange-toned crystals) and then checking the west side of that space.
Start smart: Fast travel to Gemstone Mountain and head into the Crystal Caves (using any unlocked mailbox closest to the caves).
Confirm you’re in the right chamber: You want the Orange Crystal Cave. If the room is mainly pink or blue/calm-colored crystals, you’re close but not there yet.
Exact spot: Once inside, sweep the western edge of the chamber (hug the left/west wall and look along the perimeter). The dapper egg is positioned on that side for this week’s rotation.
Finish it: Open your camera and take a clear photo so the game registers the find. If it doesn’t pop immediately, step closer and try again from a slightly different angle.
New to the weekly hunt? Earlier how-to coverage around the Switch/PC launch also notes you’ll need to clear Pochacco’s “Gudetama Snap” quest line to unlock the weekly routine, and that the schedule is predictable and repeats over time. Destructoid’s 2025 guide is one example of that early reporting that helped establish the weekly cadence.
Tophat Gudetama location reset times
The weekly rotation follows the game’s global reset clock. Siliconera reports the day resets at 7 a.m. GMT worldwide (roughly 11 p.m. PT and 2 a.m. ET, depending on daylight saving time). That same rollover is when the next Tophat Gudetama location becomes the new “current week” target. More details: Siliconera’s reset-time rundown and Polygon’s daily/weekly reset guide.
A quick caution: don’t force the reset
Some players try to “time travel” to hurry resets, but Sunblink has repeatedly warned that clock manipulation can damage saves and lock out key features, including multiplayer and time-based progression. PC Gamer highlighted that warning early in 2025, quoting the developer’s in-game mail about time manipulation potentially compromising a save file: PC Gamer’s report on Sunblink’s time-travel warning.
Once you snap it, you’re done until the next Tophat Gudetama location rolls over. If you’re planning ahead, the published rotation indicates the following week (beginning Jan. 5, 2026) stays in the Crystal Caves, shifting to the Calming Crystal cave.
